vomit and crap everywhere

oh wow - I have never seen so much vomit and crap in my life, and I used to be a barman!
A toddler with the rotavirus that lead to so much vomit and crap on Sunday night that a dash to the emergency room followed by 12 hours under observation was a very exciting way for a dad and daughter to bond. The good part of it was that my presence seemed to actually calm her and neither of us minded curling up in a hospital bed together for a night of fitful sleep. The one great thing I have noticed about travelling with a toddler, especially an adorably cute one (she gets her looks from her mum not me) is that you get amazing service - whether it be in a shop or even the hospital.
In shops she is always being given little lollies as a treat, or being allowed to play with things regardless of the don’t touch signs. In hospital it was being taken straight to the front of the queue, given a bed while others had to sit around, and evern being given copious amounts of apple juice and a breakfast when others were being sent to try and find the cafe there or a snack machine in the hallway.
So that is the upside, some bonding time and a free breakfast.
The down side is that I haven’t held the newest addition to our family for days now through fear of spreading the dreaded virus, and Little Miss has almost forgotten that she has a sister. But then maybe that has been the plan all along, Little Miss deciding to get sick right at this moment in order to upstage Usurper - I just wish she had picked and illness that didn’t involve dad getting quite so much shit on him…
