As you may well be aware if you have been reading this blog for a while I am the proud father of the two most wonderful girls in the world (as every father thinks), namely Little Miss (toddler) and Usurper (10 weeks or so). And as I have said I wouldn’t trade them for the world.
But at lunchtime as I wandered around the city to have a bit of a break I came across a toy store. Being a big kid at heart I couldn’t resist heading in for a look and a little play. Now I will admit that when I was having a play with some of the really cool toys that I had a moment where I also kind of wanted a boy, so that I could buy all this stuff on the pretense of it being for him when it was really for me.
I know that is sexist of me, and I am sure I will be told that, but my daughter loves everything that is pink and purple, loves her fairy dress, her dolls and shows little interest in the trucks and cars I have bought for her.
Oh well, at least she is showing an interest in the PS3 and Wii when I play them, so hopefully we can bond over those.
(Now I just have to hope Wife doesn’t see this or she will start talking about a third)

At least you have time for the game console! My PS2 is at home collecting dust.
Caitlin knows it is a game console, she has seen her uncle hammering on his control. But she only associates mine as another dvd player to watch her fave shows. At this point I haven’t decided if I should start her on playing games on it yet; she still enjoys singing along with her fluffy animal friends on tv.
Mommee & Daddee don’t subscribe to the whole doll scene for Caitlin. Her toys have been the educational ones that sing when you push the right pictorial buttons. The only “feminine” toy she has are the hand-me-down baby Barbies (which she for some reason likes them naked) from her older cousins. In fact, she has Lego blocks which are what you might consider “masculine”…
But anyway, I thought this might interest you..

Hi again Toddler Daddy,
Bet you wished you had a boy just so you could play with this yourself!

Now that really rocks - If Little Miss saw that she would be so excited as it is just like the old ‘postie bike’ I ride to and from the train station each morning.
Christmas is just around the corner - I wonder if I can resist the temptation!
