I dropped the baby - oppsie

Well actually drop the baby, but apparently the toddler Little Miss did. All I know for sure is I got a call from Wife as I was sitting on the train on the way home in a bit of a panic to tell me what had happened.

As far I can gather Wife heard a call of “I did it!” from the lounge room, peered through from the kitchen to discover that the achievement the toddler was so proud of was picking up Usurper. Wife then rushed in to try and grab the baby only to watch her be dropped by the toddler.

Luckily, or not, Usurper still seems her normal, evil self so it appears no harm was done. Personally I think the toddler may even have been acting in self-defence knowing Usurper. (As and addendum I realised after posting that Wife has blogged about the ‘dropped baby incident’ at her blog as well - so you can read an eye witness account!)
In other not so exciting news there is yet another round of toddler birthday parties this weekend. The best part of which it has rained constantly today and it is expected to continue to rain all weekend. So it looks like we are going to be trapped in a confined space with toddler’s hyped up on fizzy drink for most of the weekend. I sure picked a bad life time to give up drinking.

Finally Little Miss survived her first 2 visit week in child care. Actually that is a lie, she didn’t survive - she in fact thrived! Apparently she was extremely verbal running around talking all the time and really interacting. So she was pretty much like she was when she is at home, only she was out and in public! Yay!

Not meaning to generalise, but I think girls take to school better. it’s probably genetically encoded. Micah still can’t bear the thought of going to kindy. In fact he doesn’t want to be anywhere away from mommy because, he explained, “I love you. I will miss you.”
    What can I say?

Oh, I read the “eye witness account” of the “dropped the baby incident.” I can imagine the fright.

Glad Little Miss is enjoying her child care. Hope she doesn’t pick and drop anyone there ! ;)

  4. I think the reason that girls take to school a bit better at such an early age is they are far less likely to run round madly and are able to actually control themselves far younger than boys were. That is probably sexist, and is definitely a gross generalisation based on nothing but my observations.

The only thing dropped since she dropped Usurper has been her knees onto my chest repeatedly - but she said sorry each time so I guess that makes all ok!

Micah has this thing about jumping on to people too, especially when we are reclining or lying in bed. He also loves to jump over a horizontal body. We have been telling him off because it can cause serious injuries, especially if he forgets himself and jumps on/over his little brother.
