…..well can it?
I want to know because if they can then I think our baby Usurper is evil. I don’t mean evil in a ’stab you in your sleep’ kind of way. More a ‘get into every nook and cranny of the house looking for some mischief that I can partake in’, kind of way.
I can already just tell that she will spend a lot of time in detention at school for things like water bombs, talking in class, and drawing humorous cartoons of the teacher performing acts of a dubious nature. She will be a cheeky little thing that draws equal parts admiration and exasperation from the adults in her life.
This you can tell already by the glint that she gets in her eyes when she is sticking something she shouldn’t in her mouth. The there is the ever popular scream until someone comes in and picks me up and then chortle as if to say ‘you are my little biatch and you will do as I say’ game that she just loves to play.
This has me more worried than usual because she is on the verge of free movement. She is still at the getting around by rolling stage and this is somewhat limiting for her. But she is trying to crawl and is also ’standing’ if someone holds her hands or if she is propped up against a couch or something. So the end is nigh as far her being in control and unlike her elder sister Little Miss there is nothing surer than the fact that Usurper is going to open and ‘explore’ every door and cupboard in the house.
I look forward to an exciting day of baby proofing in the near future, which will be made even more exciting when trying to explain to the toddler why half her toys have to be put away (that is going to lead to a tantrum of epic proportions).
On an only slightly less disturbing note Wife has now got her own blog website. For some reason unknown to me she has decided to go by the non de plume of Hissychick, can only assume that she has done so for the same reasons we Australians call redheads ‘Bluey’.
I would encourage you all to go and have a look at it and you will find the complete opposite of my own blog. It is well written, well thought out, informative and full of honesty. Mine on the other hand is poorly written, ill informed, has no actual information contained within it and chock full of lies and half truths.

LOL you just have a very normal baby who has her mommy and daddy wrapped around her little finger before she has even become a toddler.
yeah…..kids can be ONE GREAT manipulative lot. I should know. I was one! Especially towards Daddy!
Mummee thinks our 3yr old Caitlin has her Daddee all wrapped around her finger, too. Caitlin herself may be playing the same game at an even higher level, the one that she isn’t even letting on her grand plan and secretly chuckles to herself in private when plotting her next moves…
I am not living in denial. No I am not. No.
parenting is never easy.
Whenever I see my friends with their first baby and that their baby is still not walking yet, I always congratulate them and tell them to enjoy that period as much as they can because when the babies go mobile, the parents will have a hard time keeping their homes and their lives neat!!
When my youngest was a baby I could tell that she was going to be strong willed. It wasn’t that she was bad and screaming all the time. It was just the opposite. She was a happy, wonderful baby as long as everything was going her way. As soon as something terrible (like a diaper change) disturbed her, she was a terror. As soon as her environment went back to status quo, she was happy and peaceful again.
I knew she was strong willed, and everyone laughed at me.
But now that she is two, they aren’t laughing anymore. I was right.
