Observations over a long weekend

It was a long weekend here - which meant three days at home with the family. As an added bonus we are heading off on a family vacation later this week, so with only 2 days of work to go before then after the long weekend I was feeling particularly relaxed.

Anywho over the last couple of days I have noticed some interesting things about the kidlets. And here they are in no particular order:

a) no matter how relaxed or laid back your kid is, the first time they are really sick and go through a solid food vomiting bout they will become a big clingy sook.

b) While you can easily understand your own 3 year olds bizarre dialect and speach pattern,  every one of their friends just squeal annoying jibberish in your ear

c) There comes a point where your angry voice no longer makes your kids sit up and take notice, instead they either just growl back at you, or point and laugh. Somehow they know which one will annoy you the most at any given moment.

d) You always wish your kids would play together, until they finally do, then you realise their idea of playing is squealing at each other in an extremely high pitch, and then giggling about it in an even higher pitch.

e) When a 15month old is trying desperately to speak she will try and stick her fingers in your mouth to play with your tongue out of fascination. Don’t let her do it, she will not be able to resist the urge to stick her whole hand in your mouth and grab your tonsiles.

In life there are always new things to be learnt I guess

    My response to:

    a) Oh, I so know this.

    b) My kids speak fairly clearly except when they do decide to speak in their own made-up jibberish language and try to teach it to you.

    c) My first knows when I am mad and when I am really mad by the tone of my voice. My second may be tone-deaf.

    d) Oh, I so know the squealing edging to screaming in hysteria. Worst is when you’re all in the car.

    e) Has she tried sticking her finger into your ear and nostril? Pray she does not.

    Have a good break!
